Using the drawings I had created last year, I was able to piece them together to create potential designs. Then following this, I began to draw them on illustrator, making sure that the lines would work when being cut on the laser cutter. Following the first design, I quickly realised that some of the fragments were a little small and would, therefore, be harder to work with going forward, so I changed the way the designs worked, using fewer angles and more blocky shapes. I felt that this worked better and would be easier to manage later on in the process. One other good thing about this was the fact that the larger shapes would let in more light and allow the colour to come through, this is an essential part of the project.

Overall I created nine separate panels and these designs will be used to create my final piece.
